Health Enterprises Pharmacy Services (HEPS) is currently seeking a full-time, Specialty Pharmacist to join our team. This position is responsible for managing the operation of the pharmacy department, continuous quality improvement, adherence to policies and procedures, compliance with internal and external regulatory bodies, pharmacy sales, expense control and inventory management, accurate filing and delivery of prescriptions, and ensuring the highest level of customer service.
Qualified candidates must have a Pharm D degree from an accredited educational institute; a current Iowa pharmacist license or ability to obtain within 60 days; one year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems, and insurance; experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws; completed specialized training regarding medication and disease state or has sufficient practical experience that is necessary to provide specialized services offered at clinic location (HIV, Organ Transplant, Oncology, etc.); and the knowledge of the functions and roles specific to Specialty Pharmaceutical dispensing, including, but not limited to, clinical follow-up with the patient, pre-authorization process, cold chain and other handling requirements, and mail-order delivery. Specialty Pharmacist experience is required. URAC accreditation and supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
